Our Catering Policies


At The Market Catering, we provide thoughtfully sourced and safely prepared food for your next meeting or event. We are committed to providing an elevated and seamless catering experience for all guests. That said, the catering policies are in place to ensure the highest quality food and service standards on a consistent basis.

ORDERING DEADLINES
To secure availability of service and menu items, all orders must be confirmed by our team at least 2 business days prior to the catering service. We recommend placing your orders far in advance, as our calendar fills up quickly. Changes to orders can be made up to 2 business days before the catering service. For last-minute catering change requests, please contact the catering team and we will do our best to accommodate. A lastminute order fee of $50 will be added to all orders placed within the 2-business day order deadline. Please note that menus are subject to change based upon seasonality and availability.

LOCATION CHANGE
If your meeting location changes within 24 hours of the event, a $25 fee will be incurred for pick-up, transport, and re-set of the food/beverage station in the new location.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Customers are responsible for payment of 50% of the total invoice plus $100 in labor for any orders canceled within 2 business days of the event. If a customer cancels their catering on the day of their event, the customers will be responsible for 100% of the total invoice.

GUEST COUNT CHANGE
The guest count can be changed up to 2 business days prior to the event. If the guest count changes within 2 business days of the event, the count may be increased but not decreased. Please contact the catering team to see if the guest count change (increase only) can be accommodated.

ORDER MINIMUM
For on-site catering orders, the minimum is $150 per meal period (before service charge and tax). A minimum delivery fee of $50 will be charged for off-campus events, to be assessed based on distance of travel.

CATERING SERVICE CHARGE
All catering orders include a 20% service charge. The service includes setup, delivery and cleanup of your catering order and equipment. Please allow 30 minutes before and after the event for our catering team to properly set up and clean up.

HOURS OF OPERATION AND PREMIUM SERVICE RATE
Our standard hours of operation are from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Any event starting outside of our standard hours, that require service staff, will incur a premium service rate of $37.50 per hour. We are dedicated to accommodating your needs, even outside our regular hours, but please note that the premium service rate ensures the availability and commitment of our staff during non-standard hours.

PAYMENT
We accept credit cards for payment. A valid credit card must be added to the client’s online wallet in CaterTrax to confirm all orders. Menu pricing does not include sales tax and will be subject to Washington State Sales Tax. Prices may change based on the seasonality of items.

BAR SERVICES
Our sales team will provide an estimated beverage consumption for orders with bars. The final invoice is based on actual beverage consumption. Please allow one hour prior and and after the event for set-up and clean up. Per WA state liquor laws, food and non-alcoholic drinks must be provided when alcohol is served. For all bar services and happy hour events, a MAST certified Bon Appetit bartender is required for $25 per hour per bartender with a 3-hour minimum (volunteer bartenders and self-service bars are not permitted at catered events). If a client chooses to provide their own alcoholic beverages, a corkage fee will apply, and all beverages provided by the guest must be given to the catering team no less than 24 hours in advance.

LARGE GROUPS
For groups over 100, the catering team may require a server to guide guests, replenish and consolidate the food station at a rate of $25 per server per hour. If an attendant is required, our team will add the appropriate service fee to the invoice. For groups over 75, the catering team may suggest extra portions of food to accommodate guests taking larger portions. BLOCKED DAYS To ensure the highest quality catering services for all guests, the catering team will block days on the CaterTrax calendar once we are at capacity.
